Scenius Gallery is a contemporary art space in Sligo, Ireland, run by three practicing artists. Grounded in the principal of shared creative agency, the gallery supports ambitious, critically engaged work and is committed to the development of artistic discourse, exchange and collaboration in the west of Ireland.

Natura | Tina Brooks

Tina Brooks lives and works on the Coolera peninsula. Her paintings in this exhibition are built directly from her observation and habitation within the local environment, itself a Special Area of Conservation; a landscape of shifting dunes, mudflats and estuary that also supports wintering seabirds, waterfowl and a resident colony of harbour seals. Read together, the works trace the same tidal ground the designation exists to protect: an emotional response, in Brooks's words, "to environment and place."
